Jeffrey Miller on Georgia Debate v 1.0

Note: The following post is my editorialized opinion on Georgia Debate.

If you have any questions / comments, you can either comment here or email me at jmiller@gaforensics.com

The following is coming from me as the GFCA Treasurer:

As I discussed with some prior to the election, the GFCA has no incentives right now which is bothering considering I’ve spent the last year researching incentives for alternative energy. I spent some time coming up with ways we can incentivize membership in the GFCA other than voting. Fayette Qualifies Two More To Nationals!

We received an email on Tuesday notifying us of another entry we’ve qualified to NFL Nationals!  Iesha White has qualified in International Extemporaneous Speaking.  Iesha will not be able to attend because she has already been accepted into the prestiguous summer institute, Georgia’s Honors Program at Valdosta State University.

However, Iesha will still be honored with a National Qualification.

The next alternate in International Extemporaneous Speaking was freshman Allen Chancey.  Allen will be attending Nationals with the team this summer.  Allen is only the second freshmen all time from Fayette County to qualify to Nationals!

Congratulations Iesha & Allen!

Now Hiring: Assistant Policy Coach

ASSISTANT COACH OPENING

The Fayette County High School Debate Team is looking to hire an Assistant Policy Debate Coach for the 2009-2010 season. Fayette County is located in Fayetteville, GA about 30 minutes south of the airport.

The assistant coach would be expected to attend at least two meetings per month after school, lightly assist with evidence production, help strategize and attend most national tournaments with the team. National tournaments planned include Georgetown Day, Samford, Bronx Science, Blue Key, Ohio Valley, Montgomery Bell, Emory, and Vestavia Hills. We will strongly prefer female applicants who are located in the Atlanta area. This position is ideal for undergraduate or graduate level students with debate experience.
The compensation is a negotiable stipend for the debate season. The team will cover judging and meals that are not factored into the stipend.
